In less than a month, the eighth round of the Grand Prix cycle will take place in Riga. It has just been announced that Jevgenijs Kostigovs will participate with a wild card in Latvia. The day before, Nikita Kaulins will compete as a wild card in SGP 2.
For Jevgenijs Kostigovs, it will be his debut in a Grand Prix round. The 29-year-old has served as a reserve twice, in 2015 and in 2017. Now he will have the opportunity to perform among the world’s best in front of his own audience. Among Latvians, in addition to him, Andzejs Lebedevs will also be in the lineup, with Francis Gusts and Olegs Mihailovs waiting for their turn.
In SGP 2, the competition for the best under-21 speedway riders, Nikita Kaulins will compete with number sixteen. The reserves for this tournament will be Damirs Filimonovs and Artjoms Juhno.
