The season opener in Ostrów brought great excitement. The outcome of the match was uncertain until the last race, in which equipment failure deprived Frederik Jakobsen of points. Participating with him in this race, Luke Becker confidently raced to 3 points, which allowed him to achieve a flawless full score. After the match, the American commented on his performance.
– It was one of those days when everything worked for me, and I was fast. Thanks to that, it was definitely easier for me to score points. Individually, this is a good match for me because, for the first time in my career, I scored a full set of points during races in Europe – said the satisfied American.
Much of the post-match discussion among experts and fans was focused on the local players’ performance on their track. Initially, they were dominating the opponents, but as the match progressed, the guests took the initiative. – I don’t know exactly what didn’t work in our team. Everything is made up of small things that determine whether something can work. Now, the track is completely different than during training sessions. Currently, the conditions are definitely better, but each of us has to adapt to this track to feel comfortable on it – described Becker.
The player, despite the unfavorable result for his team, does not lose hope after the first lost match on his home track. Luke Becker believes that more laps on the Ostrów oval will bring positive results for the entire team. – I know we lost, but despite that, we must look at the positive aspects of the match and move on to the next meeting. I’m not 100% sure, but we will definitely have some training sessions before the upcoming matches, it is still the beginning of the season, the weather is constantly changing. It is definitely misleading when it comes to bike settings. We must train as much as possible and be as prepared as we can – concluded the American.
