Round 1 of the FIM Speedway Grand Prix 2 series was held in Malilla. The event was topped by the title defender, Wiktor Przyjemski. William Drejer secured second place on the podium, and Kevin Małkiewicz took third.
- Wiktor Przyjemski could be certain of participation in the Grand Finale already after the fourth series.
- Kevin Małkiewicz took on a remarkable battle for third place in the last race against Nazar Parnicky. The Polish speedway rider ended up better than last year’s silver medalist.

Participation in the Grand Finale was secured by Wiktor Przyjemski already during the main stage of the tournament. The ORLEN OIL MOTOR Lublin rider was sure of a spot in the last race of the day after the fourth series when he had accumulated a complete set of 12 points. The 20-year-old completed formalities in the 20th race, winning with a large margin over the rest of the field. Alongside him, Nazar Parnitskyi directly advanced to the final match.
Another Polish representative, Kevin Małkiewicz, joined Przyjemski. The BAYERSYSTEM GKM Grudziądz speedway rider excellently launched from the starting machine in the second semi-final and confidently raced to victory in the contest, though he had to watch out for attacks from Mathias Pollestad. Despite the Norwegian’s offensive, Małkiewicz did not let the final berth slip away.
The lineup of participants in race no. 23 was completed by the winner of the first semi-final, William Drejer. The Dane had a chance for a direct advance to the final. After three series of starts in the main part of the competition, he had collected 8 points. However, the last two series did not go according to the CELLFAST WILKÓW Krosno rider’s plan.
In the final competition, Przyjemski led from start to finish. Directly behind him followed Drejer. A visually pleasing fight was held between Małkiewicz and Parnitskyi. On the penultimate lap, the White-Red speedway rider moved into third place. However, the Ukrainian didn’t give up. On the last bend, just before the finish line, Małkiewicz made a mistake which was nearly capitalized on by our southeastern neighbor. Ultimately, the barely 18-year-old Pole was faster by a hair’s breadth.
