Max Fricke (BAYERSYSTEM GKM Grudziądz): Well, first of all, we were lucky that the rain didn’t catch us. It was important to earn the bonus point, and we managed that. Of course, there were moments we could have performed better, so there is a slight disappointment. But the most important thing is that we have the bonus.
Do you like the track in Gorzów or does it give you trouble?
I like this track, but sometimes it’s hard to find the right settings here. The hosts are always strong here.
The start of the competition wasn’t best for you, but you won your third ride and were very fast. Did you change anything in the settings?
Yes, we were juggling the settings throughout the evening to find something that works. The third race was really successful, but unfortunately it was hard to repeat that in other heats.
At the beginning, your team also had problems with starts, but something changed in the third series. What was the cause?
Starts were very important. After all, starts are always crucial. We shared insights with teammates to find settings that allow us to get off the line better.
Michael Jepsen Jensen and Vadim Tarasienko performed very well. Are you happy with their form?
Yes, definitely. It’s nice to see that they’re in good shape.
As the team captain, do you feel extra pressure to score a lot of points?
Yes, I feel pressure – but it’s mainly pressure I put on myself. I definitely want to ride better.
In the 11th heat, it seemed that Jakub Miśkowiak got into your racing line and you almost lost your position to Andzejs Lebedevs. Do you agree with that?
Yes, but you know – we’re all racing. These things happen, it’s part of racing.
The first part of the season is not going as you planned. Only two double-digit scores, while last year you had five at this stage. Plus weaker results in the Grand Prix. Do you feel like you’re already on the right track to getting back in shape?
I’m working very hard, training a lot, trying to find the right feeling. I think I’m not where I want to be yet, but we’re heading in a good direction.
What are the reasons why this season is worse than the previous one?
There are a few reasons, but if I knew the specific answer, I would have already used it. It’s just not all working as I’d like yet. But I’m not giving up – we’re working on it
