In the 18th round of the PGE Ekstraliga, BAYERSYSTEM GKM Grudziądz hosted BETARD SPARTA Wrocław.
- In the bronze medal match, the local team, BAYERSYSTEM GKM Grudziądz, narrowly defeated Wrocław’s BETARD SPARTA 46:44. Unfortunately, the point difference from the first leg of the two-legged match in Lower Silesia was too great for Grudziądz to recover.
- Despite not winning a medal, Robert Kościecha was optimistic after the match against Wrocław’s BETARD SPARTA: The bronze medal slipped away from us a week ago, but I’m glad we were able to win any match in the play-off phase. In the pre-match briefing, I told the players to ride for the fans, sponsors, and the city – said coach Gołębi.
- Congratulations to the Grudziądz team on their victory, but I’m glad that we claim the bronze medal and managed to seal it rather quickly. The substantial lead from our home match gave us relative calm, although we had to keep an eye on the result for the next 15 heats. I have plenty of wonderful memories from Wrocław, and if I were to tell them, we wouldn’t have enough time, but each season was difficult and beautiful in its own way – Dariusz Śledź after his last match as coach of BETARD SPARTA Wrocław.
