BETARD SPARTA Wrocław hosted PRES Toruń in the 16th round of the PGE Ekstraliga. The Spartans had to overcome a fourteen-point deficit from the first match at the Toruń Motoarena to reach the finals of the competition.
- BETARD SPARTA Wrocław defeated PRES Toruń 47:43. This victory was not enough to win the two-legged match because in the first confrontation between the two teams, Piotr Baron’s team, who defeated the Spartans 52:38, was better.
- The bitterness of defeat after Sunday’s match had to be swallowed by Dariusz Śledź: We fought until the end, but unfortunately, we lost this two-legged match. We were close, but we must congratulate the Toruń team on their victory in the semifinals. We need a bit of rest after this two-week tension, and then we will focus on the fight for bronze – said the coach of Wrocław’s BETARD SPARTA.
- It’s great that this is another season where we fight for medals, and even better that we have a chance to win gold. I have a very positive opinion of Antoni Kawczyński’s performance, and despite it not looking good in terms of points, it shows that he can start excellently and mix things up in the first corner. Ultimately, it contributed a lot to the course of the races he participated in – Patryk Dudek on the competition against the Wrocław team.
