The work on the new covered stand at the CELLFAST WILKÓW stadium is slowly approaching completion. The construction, which has been ongoing for over a year, is now in the finishing stages, and according to the club, there is no indication that Krosno fans will have to wait for it longer than the league season.
CELLFAST WILKI Krosno, after the 2024 season, immediately commenced the construction of the new covered stand located at the starting straight of the stadium. Just over a year later, the first significant results of the work can already be seen, which in connection with the approaching METALKAS 2nd Extra League season are coming to an end. – Fans can rest assured. Currently, the contractor is in the final stage of finishing work. Next, activities will begin related to the development of the area next to the stand, namely cleanup work. Simultaneously, for several weeks now, the stadium fence has been undergoing renovation, giving the facility a contemporary appearance also from the outside. Returning to the stand, it is currently important to focus on details that are meant to ensure comfort and safety. There is no indication that the new Covered Stand will not be ready for the start of league games – says Piotr Bąk, spokesperson for CELLFAST WILKI Krosno to ekstraliga.pl.
When exactly will the new stand be fully operational then? – We are not declaring an exact date – however, we want the stand to be ready as soon as possible. The final decision will depend on formal acceptances and organizational matters. The most important thing for us is that everything is completed 100 percent. The key is for the fans to be able to take their places on the new stand on April 10 during a particularly attractive friendly match, where our opponent will be the Polish champion, PRES GRUPA DEVELOPERSKA Toruń. Two days later, we are already facing the league inauguration in Krosno – a confrontation between CELLFAST WILKI Krosno and MOONFIN MALESA Ostrowa Wlkp. – announces.
Importantly, the work on the new stand has been proceeding the entire time without any interference with the track surface of CELLFAST WILKÓW. – The construction in no way interfered with the track. The construction site was isolated from the surface from the beginning, and the track remained outside the work zone. Additionally, we have been continuously maintaining its condition – after heavy snowfall, the track was cleared of snow so that the melting snow did not soak into the surface. All actions are being carried out with the thought of its proper preparation for the season. It is worth adding that all speedway events in the 2024 and 2025 seasons took place without even the slightest obstacles concerning our track. So how does the new infrastructure affect the interest of fans in season tickets for the rapidly approaching METALKAS 2nd Extra League season? – The interest is really very high. At this point, we have already sold nearly 3500 season tickets, meaning that almost half the stadium is occupied. From the 2026 season, the facility at Legionów will be able to accommodate over 7,000 fans, including standing places. The season tickets – especially on the new Covered Stand and in the Silver sector – decrease with each passing day. This shows that fans are waiting for this season and the new quality of the stadium. We constantly encourage the purchase of season tickets because an exciting year is in store.
