Grzegorz Walasek officially announced the end of his sports career. The legend of Polish speedway will not leave without a farewell. Walasek will organize a special tournament „One More Race,” which will take place on April 5 in Zielona Góra.
Walasek in 2025 was still an active speedway rider, whom MOONFIN MALESA Ostrów Wlkp decided to „emergency” call upon. The 49-year-old ultimately participated in 14 meetings, in which he scored 86 points for himself and the team.
After the season, Grzegorz Walasek was introduced as the coach of STELMET FALUBAZ Zielona Góra, but he did not rule out continuing his career as a rider. Now it is known that his 32-year sports career has finally come to an end.
The farewell tournament „One More Race” organized by Walasek will take place on April 5 at 4:00 PM at the stadium in Zielona Góra.
– I think I can now officially announce that my role as a speedway „veteran” on Polish tracks is coming to an end. This is the moment when the older junior says „pass” after 32 years (…) For the last time, I want to fire up the engine and go out on the track, thank you for all these years, and guarantee a good show in the old, good style with the participation of the best speedway riders in the black sport – wrote Walasek in a statement.
