We already know the entire schedule for the METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga for the 2026 season. We asked Michał Finfa, the sports director of the club from Krosno, about the chances of CELLFAST WILKI in the first rounds, as well as his assessment of the opponents.
CELLFAST WILKI will inaugurate the 2026 season in Bydgoszcz, where they will face the local ABRAMCZYK POLONIA, similarly to the Krosno team – one of the favorites to win the entire METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga.
– It seems the Ekstraliga authorities acted similarly here as in the case of the PGE Ekstraliga, where they also decided to open the season with a match between title contenders, i.e., a meeting between teams from Lublin and Toruń. Before our inauguration against ABRAMCZYK POLONIA Bydgoszcz, journalists will be writing about the blockbuster match, as indicated by the line-ups and predictions from some experts. This stirs us, as I’ve already discussed with coach Piotr Świderski, to approach preparations for the upcoming season with increased focus. After publishing the entire schedule, we also informed the players about the need for more intense preparations, as it can be described as a tough challenge – said Finfa.
– We were prepared for the possibility of an away match in the first round due to the ongoing construction of the new main stand at our stadium. Every week is important for us, so we requested such a possibility from the Ekstraliga. Our opponent turned out to be a high-caliber team, namely ABRAMCZYK POLONIA Bydgoszcz, and especially their juniors, who will be an incredible challenge for us – said the sports director of CELLFAST WILKI Krosno.

The Krosno team will return to their track in the second round of METALKAS 2. Ekstraliga, where they will face the strengthened before the season MOONFIN MALESA Ostrów Wlkp. Who will be the favorite for this match? – I am not an expert or a bookmaker, whom you would need to ask about that. I am the sports director of CELLFAST WILKI Krosno and I focus on ensuring that the team is as well-prepared as possible for each match. As I’ve already mentioned, I’m not discovering America – the schedule is a challenge for us. Last year it wasn’t the most favorable for us either, as we started with an away match in Ostrów, followed by Leszno and Poznań, and the point balance was good. Neither we nor our fans have anything to worry about. We have a schedule that requires us to be in top form from the beginning of the season – concluded Michał Finfa.
