BAYERSYSTEM GKM Grudziądz hosted BETARD SPARTA Wrocław in the 18th round of the PGE Ekstraliga. This match determined which team would take third place in the league table.
- BAYERSYSTEM GKM Grudziądz defeated BETARD SPARTA Wrocław in the second match for the bronze medal of the Polish Team Championship 46:44, but the Spartans, thanks to their lead from the first match, could celebrate securing a spot on the lowest step of the podium in the PGE Ekstraliga.
- Despite not securing the bronze medal, Robert Kościecha remained optimistic: There is always faith in victory, which is why I made tactical changes and am very happy with the win at the end of the season against a very strong team. This was our first match in the playoffs that we won, and I feel satisfied – said coach Pigeons in the ELEVEN Sports mixed zone.
- In fact, we secured this bronze medal after the first match, so apart from the result itself, in the context of the fight for bronze, the absence of Maciej Janowski’s mechanical issue wouldn’t have changed much – Dariusz Śledź on winning the bronze medal.
