After 18 intense rounds, full of battles for valuable points, AVO KS Toruń and U24 BECKHOFF SPARTA Wrocław teams have made it to the final of the training league. The first battle for gold will take place at Motoarena. Start at 5:00 PM.
In the concluding season, the fight for places in the top two of the U24 Ekstraliga lasted until the very last moment. Only the results of the final round of the main phase determined who would compete for the gold medal in the youth league. The U24 BECKHOFF SPARTA Wrocław team topped the table, while the second place was taken by AVO KS Toruń players.
U24 BECKHOFF SPARTA advanced to the final with a total of 29 large points, won in 11 victories and one draw. The Wrocław team only lost four times – twice to the team IMPAKT WŁÓKNIARZ (49:41 and 44:46). They also had to acknowledge the superiority of opponents from Leszno 42:48 at their home ground. Away, they lost to the club from Toruń 55:33. For Tuesday’s competition, Dariusz Śledź has appointed a proven lineup that will fight to defend last year’s title.
The wards of Piotr Baron finished the main phase with 27 large points on their account. They achieved 11 victories, and five times they had to acknowledge the superiority of their rivals – including the Wrocław team, who defeated them 66:24 on their own ground. Now in the final, the Toruń team faces an exceptionally difficult challenge. The team will have to cope without their leader, Bastian Pedersen, who will participate in Bauhaus-Ligan.
Despite such a harsh defeat of Toruń in the last direct match of the main round, an incredibly exciting spectacle is expected at Motoarena. The final phase is a new deal, where each team can surprise. The Wrocław team will do everything to claim gold again, while the Toruń team will stand before the opportunity to win the championship for the first time.
