After a difficult injury, I am constantly in contact with doctors and hospitals – said Tomasz Gollob in an interview with Polish Radio Pomorza i Kujaw. – Recently, I was in the hospital to positively start the season with commentating on CANAL+ – he added.
The 2010 Individual World Champion occasionally requires the support of doctors. – It’s a continuation of the struggle, not only in life, but I will be commenting on matches for CANAL+, my partner, and I do it with great pleasure. I can tell fans interesting stories – confessed Gollob.
The Bydgoszcz native, in a conversation with Maciej Wilkowski, referred to recent events, primarily to Tai Woffinden’s injury. – The motorcycles in Krosno were probably going about 50 km/h, two hit the barrier. I think it’s unfortunate that Tai Woffinden was injured, but with momentum and speed and interlocked with the motorcycles. It is not that the barriers are bad, conclusions need to be drawn. If we drive a car into a wall at 100 km/h, even the best car won’t withstand. It’s similar with motorcycles. I can tell how it hurt to hit the planks or the bottom of the steel barrier. That’s how it used to be in speedway – recalled Gollob.
– Today, tracks are even, barriers are soft, but something can always happen that is dangerous for the rider. Let’s not look for culprits. Track commissioners, GKSŻ, and PZM are doing everything to increase safety. I’ve been saying for a long time to consider inner tubes in the wheels; the grip of the wheels would be different (currently, tubeless tires are used – editor’s note). There would be better control for young riders over the motorcycles – concluded Gollob.
