Much excitement was brought by the struggle for advancement to the semifinals of PGE Ekstraliga. Until the very end, the fight for the last available spot among the top four teams of the season was between the teams from Toruń and Grudziądz. Ultimately, thanks to a higher position in the standings after the regular season, KS APATOR advanced as the lucky loser.
